Hey guys
I m currently a 3rd year engineering student. I got a such low GPA 2.8. I will finish my undergrad career in 4 to 6 quarter ( all depends on my senior project ) . Im thinking about applying to grad school after finishing my BS in engineering. Do I think I will have a chance to get in to top tier school (rank 10 to 50) ? Does GPA really a matter in order to apply to Master program?I see most of school have a minimum GPA to apply as 3.0 . Anyone here got in to grad school with a low GPA? If so , What did u do in order to get in to?Please give some advices.Thank you so much.

Start looking for a job. You won’t be getting into top tier graduate schools unless you or your family make substantial donations to school or you did some absolutely amazing research. Yes, GPA matters a lot but is never (usually) the sole determining factor. What a 3.0 minimum means is that if you have a 3.0 and substantial research experience you might have a chance. As your GPA rises the amount of research experience you would need would decline.
