Low GPA, good EC's and SAT? GW/GMU/VCU? only a Junior

Hey, thanks for reading this in advance. I am a Junior. My dream school is George Washington University, with my more realistic schools being George Mason, Virginia Commonwealth, University of South Carolina, among a few others and majoring in Political Science. The problem that I have is the fact that I was lazy as hell freshman/sophomore year, and now it's biting me in the butt. I have a 2.4 unweighted/2.9 Weighted GPA, taking about 75% honors classes. However, I have been trying to buckle down this year, taking AP Human Geography and AP US Government. My grades are much improved, though not where I want them to be yet. 1st quarter of this year I had an 80 in AP Human, 95 in AP Government, 95 in CP Statistics (already taken my 4 credits of math, this was more of a GPA boosting elective), 100's in PE and Building Construction, 83 in English, and I am also taking CP Chemistry next semester. I feel as if my EC's will help me though, as well as when I take the SAT this coming year.

EC's

-Worked 1 year to now at Lizard's Thicket restaurant as a chef, 25+ hours a week
-Worked from a month ago to now for Natural Molecular Testing Corporation
-Varsity Football sophomore-present years
-Mock Trial Junior/Senior
-Interact Club Junior/Senior Year
-Varsity Track and Field Freshman-Senior years
-One of top Cyclists in the nation up until Sophomore year

I feel as if my EC's are strong especially because of the real world experience i receive through my jobs, however I'll leave that to yall to decide

Academics (ehhhhh)

2.4 UW, 2.9 W
SAT (taken beginning of Sophomore Year, taking at the end of Junior year and beginning of senior year again) 590 Math, 550 Reading, 540 Writing
