Low GPA/Good SAT Lib Arts

Hey y'all,

High school senior here, gonna be applying to a few schools soon enough. My GPA is a 2.6 (abysmal, i know) and i have 2000 SAT that i will be retaking in a month. I'm projecting an increase in my gpa to about a 2.8/2.9 by the end of this semester, which will hopefully augment my chances at my target colleges. I got to a renowned private high school in California (i think we're considered one of the best in the US), so that might help me. Anyway, here's my schools in preferential order:

Bard College
Eugene Lang College
Emerson College
Sarah Lawrence College
Lewis & Clark College
Boston U
Bennington College
UC Santa Cruz
Goucher College
U Oregon

I may have forgotten a few...

Chance away, compadres.

TY

bump

also interested in SUNY Purchase. I also get that there’s probably heaps of threads like this one out there but if someone could offer some input, i’d really appreciate it.

bump, come on y’all

Emerson and U Oregon, I think you can get in.
others, I don’t know.

I’m applying to Eugene Lang, too! PM me and we should talk about chances/extracurriculars/grades etc. I have a bad gpa too, unfortunately :(

@creamania Thanks for the input… tbh I wasn’t feeling very optimistic but Emerson but thanks for restoring some confidence. On a side note, does anyone think doing EA/ED at Bard would outweigh a probable 0.2-0.3 boost in my gpa that would be factored in with a regular application?

oh, btw - I heard that since there’s such a gender imbalance in a bunch of the lib arts schools i’m apping to, it actually helps to be a guy… or is that just speculative BS?
