low GPA help

i need help from all who can give me advice, my GPA is rather low only a 2.45 and have a 570 GMAT. I graduated in 2002 and have been in the military since 2000. How would that affect me in chosing an MBA program and future job prospects? should I go back to get another undergraduate degree or pursue a graduate degree in a different discipline before trying for my MBA?? thx

That's a tough one. Sometimes a good GMAT can offset a low GPA and vice versa, but you're low on both counts. Your military experience will be a plus, but with your grades and test score, the admissions people will have serious doubts about being able to handle the rigors of their curriculum. I would definitely re-take the GMAT and aim for something in the 600s or better. Also, take some quant classes at your local community college and get good grades, and if you can get a graduate degree, do that too. But that's going to be a big investment of time and money (and plus you'll still have to overcome your GPA).

So step one should be to re-take the GMAT and do better.
