Any feedback would be good
My friend had a similar GPA and was waitlisted but since you are only a junior you’re on a good track to get in; just really try to bring that GPA up more during your senior year. Outstanding ECs tho will prob compensate for a lower GPA.
What were his test scores? @PrincessJas
I got in with a 3.9 (college GPA.) She was applying as a transfer student from college with a 3.45 GPA, test scores weren’t requested as they’re optional for transfers. However, I know that you’re applying as a freshman so here are the official 2015 fall midranges for regularly admitted FRESHMAN students that RU gave me as a handout at a visit.
School of Engineering (you seem to have an interest in this subject type so yea) SAT 1910-2180, ACT 28-33, GPA 3.7-4.2.
School of Arts and Sciences: SAT: 1750-2060, ACT 26-31, GPA 3.6-4.0.
Hope this helps. Also apply as soon as apps open because spots fill up quickly, which might be a factor as to why my friend got waitlisted.
Also when you apply, you’re allowed to apply to up to 3 RU schools at once so I suggest applying to Engineering, then maybe business and arts & sciences so if you’re denied admission from engineering, you can still enter Rutgers through another school and transfer to the engineering program later on when you raise your GPA. Just a tip on maximizing your chances of getting your foot into the door.
My friend was waitlisted from School of Arts/sci, btw.
