My gpa is 2.89(basically 2.9), yet the act score i got back just recently was a 28. I live in California, will i get accepted anywhere, will my gpa make it that colleges wont look past it.

It’s a great topic to discuss with your guid counselor. Certainly you have options. The key is to assemble a good list of target schools. GL to you.

what if the minimum of a college is a 3.0(oregon, uc boulder), yet my test score is higher, a tough one.

Calculate your GPA as described here:
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - GPA Calculator](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU)

Then check this table to see if you are CSU eligible, which means that you will be admitted to a non-impacted campus and major, assuming all other eligibility criteria are met (e.g. a-g courses):
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - Eligibility Index - California Residents](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>GPA Calculator | CSU)
For impacted campuses and majors, the standards are higher, though how much higher is not entirely predictable.

Another option is to go to community college for two years, take the needed courses as listed at [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) for your target major and UC or CSU campuses, then transfer as a junior. Junior level transfers to UC and CSU are considered on the basis of college work, not high school work. However, many community colleges are overflowing and hard to get classes at. This problem also occurs at some CSU campuses, though some CSU campuses have four year pledges that give priority registration to ensure graduation in four years if you agree to follow your major’s course plan and not need remedial courses.

i found 2 colleges i have a chance at, which are KU and University of Missouri, KU requires only a 2.5gpa and a 24 act score, so i will apply there, my list is still just cal states plus now these 2
