So recently I had a huge slap to the face from my transcript.. Currently a junior and I'm worried now that I will not be able to attend college with my current GPA.

Additional Information: Eagle Scout, President of computer science club, A's in all the AP classes I have taken.

I really would rather avoid community college since I'd like to go to college with my older brother or a college in Texas at all.

I was looking into Texas State University, Tech, Baylor and a few others...

What are my chances at attending a 4-year college fresh out of high school? I'm working my butt off in my classes to make sure I finish my junior year with A's and B's, so far so good.

I have a 2.78 Gpa and a decent 26 ACT. The best way to see what you could get into is to look up the “common data set” for all of the universities you’re interested in. They usually list the percentiles of Act and Gpa of the admitted students.

Hey Daax12, I’m also from Texas. As a junior, you still have time to improve your GPA. I’m sure Texas State and Texas Tech won’t be too difficult to get into, but I think you really need to bring up your GPA for Baylor.

I personally would advise you to go to a CC. Even if you do well in Jr. year, those colleges might not accept you. You seem to be at least a little ambitious, so why not get a 3.6+ at a CC and transfer to UTA or a higher ranked state school?
