well to make this thing short i have a 3.0 GPA weighted (sucks) from 10-11 but i am expecting 2000+ SAT I score and SAT II math (800) hist (750) bio(750) and i will have over 150 hours of community service and i am expecting to work this summer all the way till the end of my senior year..

Btw i took the AP exams this may and i am expecting a atleast a 3 in aP bio and 5 in AP hist...

i am going to apply to all UCs and i know i am not going to get in UC berk , UCLA , UCSD..

i just want to know if i have any chance of getting into the remaning UCs?

thanks

PS: i want to get into Engineering possibly electronics and i am taking electronics 2 next year

my main goal is UC davis~~~~ ... i will be the happiest person if i get into UC davis.. any advice on what i should do to further improve my chances...

I had a 3.2 with a 1480 and got into davis and irvine. However, a friend of mine had a 3.1 with a 1500 and got rejected from those UCs. He got into Cal Poly SLO though. I'm pretty sure he got into Riverside and Santa Cruz too, but he's going to SLO.

ahh i see well i have 3 years of tennis ( not in school )... so "reach" means reachable also what subjects are most important of electrical engineering!?

I'd think your chances are better at the middle UC's than cal poly simply for the fact that Poly doesn't consider SAT II's. That's really the strength of your app.

3.0 will be the minimum acceptable GPA at all UCs starting next year. With engineering being an impacted major, you have an uphill battle. Your strong scores might get you into a lower UC, but apply widely to CSUs or privates also.

You might also consider 2 years at a community college because it seems like you'd have the potential for a top UC with 2 years of good grades.

i would but i am looking at all options before i go to a CC so i was wondering.. so if you cant transfer from a UC to a UC can you transfer from a UC to a private?

You can transfer from a UC to another UC, it's just much harder than doing so from a cc, but many do it. Yes, you can transfer to a private from a UC but if you need financial aid, it's usually limited for transfers.

With your SAT scores I think you have a good chance at Davis. If you can write good essays and fix up your extracurriculars a bit, you'll be in better shape.

UCR has like an 80 percent acceptance rate.

you can maybe get into UCLA if you had higher SATs. maybe like 2240. but your GPA isn't terrible. so if you can write a banged up essay, that would help.

you sure? because i thought you need like atleast 3.5 GPA to really have a good chance at UCLA!

so really if i do get accepted that would be soo awesome but for now i have my sights on DAVIS because davis has sort of higher acceptance rate that UCLA.

as For SATs i can try i mean i got whole summer to practice for the SATs and i also might take ACTs.

Will work experience help? and oh i forgot to mention that i play Tennis (3years and continuing) outside of school though.. however its not in some sort of a team or anything.
