heh first sorry to resurrect this thread since its 3 months old already.

i am taking precalc H ( possibly will switch to calc AP) , EconAP , physio , comtemp lit , electronic.

the clubs i joined this year are Engineering club , community service club , indian club ( culture stuff)

anyway last semister i got a 3.5 weighted so i am not sure how that will impact on my overall GPA.

would a good college essay be able to make me get into enginnering. i am guessing Electrical egineering at davis would be really hard to get into so i will try my luck at computer engineering but not sure what my odds are for getting into Davis or Cal poly SLO.

any comments?

also what are some privated should u guys think i should apply to?

comeon people.. anyone?

If you have a 3.1 or so, it's going to be very diffcult to get into any UC's/Cal Poly if you don't rock the SAT's. Do you have any scores back?

FYI: Cal Poly seems to love high SAT's.

UCD? You're definitely in!

i am retaking the SAT I and i was wondering what should be my target to get into UCD and cal poly.

anyone? bump

Both davis and cp have average gpa's of around 3.9 and an sat of 1250(old). I'd say you should shoot for 700+ on each section, especially math.

allright thanks.. should i put Engineering in General as what major in the college app or would it better to say computer engineer.

Depends if you want to major in general engineering or computer engineering. Two very different fields.

computer engineering.

You have to tell us your unweighted GPA. To be even considered, you need a minimum of 2.8 weighted. Your WEIGHTED GPA is 3.0...so I'm not sure if you can qualify for the UC's.

i thought their minimum is the Weighted gpa ie 2.8

thats about it. so now can you guys tell me what are my chances at UC davis or CAL Poly SLO ( comp engineering major)

the GPA has been increasing every year. so all i need to know the chanced by looking at those grades in these schools
UCD UCI UCSC Cal Poly.

Just speaking for the one I know about (calpoly) school of engineering average gpa 3.9 and sat 1295 (old). Calpoly compares you with students applying to your major so you really need to look at the averages for the college that you are applying to.

Within the college of engineering, computer engineering is nationally ranked and severely impacted. At accepted students weekend, we were told that for every 10 who applied into CE, 8 were turned down.
I could not find any breakdown of GPA and SAT scores by major (computer engineering), just by the overall college (Engineering).

Low GPA, high SATs, yet the latter aren't even for sure yet.

Good luck, but you can't say you have high SATs in your title, and then say you're only expecting them.

godfather, my last post confirms what SAT scores i got.
