3.7 is low for the Ivies, but it’s ballpark. Any of them seem possible, as do any of the UCs (although I’m not really familiar with UC weighting, etc.)
cool I have a 4.0 for my UC Gpa
A 4.0 UC weighted GPA is below average at the top UCs.
Your GPA is probably in the 25-50th percentile for ivy league acceptances, so it isn’t that bad. But your scores are all really good, you look like you definitely challenged yourself in high school, and you’re dedicated to your ECs. So I think you have a good shot at getting into at least some of the Ivies.
@anxioussenior1 yeah I’m very aware of that
Your gpa isn’t low, it’s just not spectacular. At the Ivy’s that’s usually enough to disqualify someone, but given the fact you’re a urm, you’ll probably nab at least one of hypsc
Your GPA isn’t stellar but you definitely still have a chance as a URM and a lower class person. Your ECs and SAT score definitely make up for it. Consider schools like WashU and NYU too because they have full ride scholarships directed specifically at African American students. Your GPA isn’t the end of the world, and although it may hamper you, you still have solid chances at a lot of good schools. Considering applying SCEA or ED to one of the Ivies maybe? It would really help your case.
Are you interested in playing football at the next level? As an URM and a team captain, the recruited athlete hook is not trivial. Hope to meet you at one of them.
You will have better chances at (lower) Ivies than top UCs as an URM. UCs don’t pay as much attention to high scores and none to URM status, as privates generally do (such as Ivies).
For example between UCLA (public) and USC(private) which generally are considered on par with each other, you will have a much better chance at USC than UCLA.
For UC’s, GPA > test scores.
If you can be recruited to play at one of the NESCAC schools (Williams, Amherst, etc) as well as Pomona/Claremonts, you’d have a shot at a truly elite education. Contact coaches.
