This is honestly crazy! I’m a junior in high school trying to get into Rutgers with the same gpa I got a 25 on my act and am beyond stressed out that I might not get into Rutgers. It’s currently my number one pick. I’ve seen online that people usually get in with a 3.0 or better. I think as long as you right a kick ass e
Essay you’ll do fine!
Not happening.
What you can do is attend community college for two years and transfer. But fewer than 15% cc students who plan to transfer to a 4 year university eventually do so…
So, my advice for you would be to retake the sat and try to score higher, and aim for universities such as Montclair, Ramapo, perhaps Rider, Moravian, Albright, Arcadia, Capital oh, Lycoming, Gannon, Mansfield university of PA, Kutztown, Penn State Abington, suny Old Westbury.
RUN THE NET PRICE CALCULATORS on every one of those and cross put the unaffordable ones.
If you’ve got leadership responsibilities, Hiram may be a good choice as they look into active extra curricular involvement.
If you want the sun, UTampa, Flagler, Stetson may all be possibilities.
@newjerseygirl98 may have advice for you.
I really doubt it, honestly. The average GPA/SAT are about 3.4/2010!
I agree CC is a good option for a few motivated students. Our CCs have such low graduation rates, it’s actually quite sad.
@MYOS1634 recommended some great schools.
I usually recommend my university, La Salle, to NJ students. They do give great merit & financial aid, although a 2.6 is quite low for admissions, let alone merit. I’d still run the NPC, since few students are full-pay.

I don’t see too many acceptances in your range for Rutgers. Suggest you find alternatives

maybe Rutgers Newark or Camden? Or Montclair, Fairleigh Dickinson, William Paterson, Ramapo if you are interested in attending in-state.
Retake the SAT to improve your chances! If you have good EC’s and boost your SAT (2100+ to make up for poor GPA), you may have a chance (write good essays too to show them it’s your top choice!)
I agree that Newark or Camden could be an option. I doubt your current stats will work for New Brunswick. It is not too late to really work on your SAT/ACT score though. A killer score may work with your GPA. It wouldn’t take too much to boost your super score on the SAT.
Bottom line— if you really want New Brunswick, retake your SAT and bring up your lower sections.
1550->2100 is not realistic. But bringing that earlier score to a 1650-1700, or New sat equivalent to 1170-1230 score is reachable and, while not sufficient for Rutgers New Brunswick, would open up more possibilities.
Go to Rutgers Newark or Camden for a year and do well. Then you’d have a decent chance of transfer
I would try Rutgers Camden first like others have said.
