Work Experience: Job managing a website, mentioned under job experience & personal statement. Focused primarily around what I did and how I learned from my mistakes. [How important are personal statements?]

GPA trend is upward; Sophomore year was a ~3.0, Junior year a 4.0+

Going for a biology major [which is impacted at a lot of UC campuses]

Applying to:
UCB
UCLA
UCSD
UCI
UC Davis
UCSB

Thanks, bit worried on what to do right now.

SAT is pretty good for UCs. GPA is your pitfall here though, since UCs put more emphasis on GPA than test scores. I’ll give my best estimate, although I don’t have a ton of info.

UCB: reach
UCLA: reach
UCSD: low reach
UCI: ~ match
UCD: ~ match
UCSB: ~ match
The last 3 really depend on other stuff like ECs, essays, etc.

vwz123- if you’re an average applicant for a UC (you pretty much are for the last 3), then the personal statements can either make you or break you. It’s not going to push you up to UCB or UCLA standards though, because they’re too much of a reach.
