Low GPA, Perfect SAT/SAT2s

Do you think colleges that ignore freshman grades will make an exception for me? I would hate to have only my sophomore grades.

I’d be curious to know the trend on your GPA. What was it your first year of high school compared to the second? If you can show an upward trend I think you’ll have a shot at some really good programs, if the GPA was higher your 1st year and fell last year I would say bust your butt this year to get your grades up, take a gap year (and do something meaningful with it, study abroad, become fluent in a language, AmeriCorp, etc.) and then apply to the top tier schools next year.

In my opinion you shouldn’t be aiming for graduating a year early, if anything, considering your GPA, you should be taking advantage of the year to raise your grades and exhibit an upward trend in GPA. Just my two cents.

My grades were better freshman year (3.5UW 4.0W) but this year i have some Bs and a C. Taking a gap year would be cool, but I really want to continue my studies in math and science and I’ll have completely exhausted my schools courses by the end of the year. If i stayed in school for another year I legitamiteley would not have any courses to take aside from art and foreign languages.

Got 5s on AP psych, physics, and euro, don’t know if that changes anything
