I attend UC Berkeley and am going to end this semester with a 2.4 GPA. I live in North Carolina, and left high school with Severe Depression due to a mix of family problems/Divorce, and a a traumatic thing happening to me. I carried that to Berkeley and mixed with laziness, I did terrible this semester. I really want to transfer to UNC next year to have a closer support system and in general have a better time(Berkeley is infamous for leaving students depressed and stressed), but my GPA is really low now. I am not willing to attend Berkeley another year, but would be willing to try my best to finish next semester. I have decent high school stats with a 33 ACT, Top 10% GPA in HS, worked at Chipotle this semester(didn’t help the grades either…), and volunteer a lot. What can I do in the next semester to improve my chances of getting in since applications are due in February?
My mom was suggesting I do next semester at Community college back in NC to have the support system and to still do classes. I just wanted your guys opinion.
