Low GPA This Year?

<p>Hi everyone,</p>

<p>I'm currently a Year 1 IB student in grade 11. Our first term just ended and most people aren't doing very well, given that it's IB and first term. Unfortunately, I am not an exception. I'm worried that my GPA will affect my chances for college admissions. I'm somewhat confident that I can bring my GPA up in the next term, but nothing's for sure. Prior to junior year, I maintained a 3.8-4.0 GPA. Will colleges take the fact that I am in IB into consideration? </p>

<p>You are expected to do well in difficult classes.</p>

<p>My GPA right now isn’t completely horrible, but it’s not good enough for the top-tier schools. Sadly enough, the one non-IB class I’m taking is the one I’m doing the best in haha. Is anyone in the same boat as me right now?</p>
