Low gpa transfer options

What cal states and UC’s could i get accepted as a transfer with a GPA lower than a 3.0?

It depends on how much your GPA is lower than 3.0. I believe for the lower tier UC, you’ll need around a 3.0.even though they list 2.4 as the minimum GPA. For CSU, the minimum GPA is 2.0. For out of state transfer applicant, the minimum GPA is higher. Realistically, I think it is probably higher in the 2.5 range. This also depends on whether the UC or CSU or if the major is impacted or not. You can google the minimum GPA question. However, don’t give up because there are colleges (both public and private) that will accept students with a GPA < 3.0.

UCM’s TAG threshold is 2.8 for most majors. Your local CSU will probably take you; as will the non-impacted CSUs like Channel Island (see the list here)

What’s your major?

Political science

Sac State’s proximity to the state capitol makes it a natural choice. Their web-site says they are looking for a 3.0 but, I’d apply anyhow.

San Jose State publishes their threshold for last year here: It looks like a 2.6 did the trick for poly sci last year so, something close to a 3.0 should be plenty

Sonoma may work.
