low GPA, transfer to a weak major?

i currently have 3.5 GPA with 28 credits. right now i am taking 19 credits and im guessing my GPA will be 3.6-3.7 this semester. i am undeclared but i am trying to go into biochem for premed. for me to go to a good pre-med school like USC,UCLA, JHU, Georgetown etc.... should i transfer as a weak/less competitive major to those schools, because of my low GPA and change my major after i get in? if so, what kind of major?
thank you in advance

bump for you.
even though i’m not sure with the major thing, i think you shouldn’t transfer to a weak major. it’s not reasonable in the admission process. :)

because of my low GPA im guessing i wont be getting into a biochem major in those schools, because it is really competitive. so maybe somehow just get into the school then change my major afterwards. is this a good move?

I don’t believe most of those schools even consider major when looking at applicants, just UCLA does to my knowledge. And doing that at UCLA would be a very bad idea because you just can’t switch into popular majors.

Yeah, I believe USC is the same as UCLA. Once you transfer in, you can not switch majors. But if you can at the places you’re looking at, I’d assume they wouldn’t count it. Anyways, you probably have a bunch of Biochem requirements finished and if you decide to apply for say…english or something, they will probably catch on anyways.

so basically i have no chance of getting in then…?

then, what school has a good/decent pre-med program that i can get in with at least 3.5-3.7 GPA?
