HI guys! I have a pretty low gpa of around 3.75/4 but i have high test scores such as a 34 on the ACTs, 790 on the math level ii exam and a 780 for the chinese language test. do you think barnard will take in consideration that even though my gpa is on the lower side, i have better test scores? i know that barnard emphasizes gpa a lot! I’m so nervous.

Your GPA is not too low! You’re going to be fine, but the Chinese test - are you an Asian? That it doesn’t really count!

Thank you for answering! I really appreciate it. Yes I’m Asian. So if it doesn’t count is my SAT II in math okay? I took the ACTs so technically the SAT II scores I sent in will only be beneficial right?

Well I got rejected so there’s no point anymore

From everything I have ever seen, Barnard places much greater emphasis on GPA & class rank than test scores

Sorry you were turned down – I know it hurts no matter what.

If it is any consolation – looking over the other colleges in your “chances” post – I think that admission to NYU is pretty much assured for you – I think they will give much greater weight to your test scores, and since you don’t need financial aid you aren’t faced with the usual impediment to attendance there.

hi @calmom i really appreciate your comment. sounds like you have a lot of experience!
