I'm currently a junior that is interested in applying to Wharton next year. I have good EC's/Awards, a decent amount of SSL hours (250ish) and good scores on tests (5's on all AP's so far... by end of senior year i will have taken about 14 exams... also 800's on SAT II's) and prolly about 2300 on SAT.

Currently my UGPA SUCKS
At the end of this year I will have a 3.75 unweighted.

Admittedly, my GPA has been immproving every year and i've taken hard classes (Can you say AP Calc BC freshman year... no joke btw.)

As stated before, GPA doesn’t matter as much as class rank/ courses taken/ etc. As long as you’re in top 10% of the class, then it’s good. Plus, 3.75 UW is pretty good, but weighed GPA is even more important. As long as you take the hardest classes and demonstrate potential, then there is nothing to worry too much about on your part…

I go to a ridiculous school full of asians… so if I knew my rank it sure as hell is not top 5%… but my school doesn’t release rank… does this change anything?

Penn will figure out a way to calculate a rough rank for you based on your school profile…but if they like eveything about you (essays, EC, rigor, etc) they might excuse a lower rank (since you don’t have one, they don’t have to report it to USNews)…all depends on the school you come from, demographics, interests, etc…

Outright, I would say “no, ain’t gonna happen” but the intanglibles are unknown…

Best thing for you to do is find out how others from your school have fared at Penn in the past couple of years; ask your GC

Any other thoughts?
I forgot to mention that I don’t have straight A’s in math which some people find important… this is pretty much due to me taking advanced courses (again, Calc freshman year…)

I’ll list some EC’s do get a picture of who I am
