Low grade in math

I currently have a low C, almost a D in math. I'm aiming for highly selective schools and I've only gotten one B throughout high school.

My math teacher is horrible and intimidating/hates me and I can't learn anything from her teaching style, the other teachers aren't "allowed" to help me, and my parents would apparently rather let me fail math than pay 50 dollars to hire a tutor. Plus they think tutors are for "dumb kids" and I don't need one.

I recently thought I aced this quiz and I got a D on it! I can't believe it. I'm always so confused in class, but when I actually think I do understand something, I don't.

I need to do something.. and FAST. I have 2 weeks left, I'm failing, there's no one out there to help me and my mind is just completely wrecked over this. I have a quiz and a test this week, on stuff I don't understand one bit. Anything I can do?

Have you tried to read your textbook? It's the best way to learn something when you're confused in the class. And why aren't the other teachers allowed to help you?

My textbook is terrible, plus it doesn't cover what we are currently doing in class. The other teachers aren't allowed to help because of some stupid school rule where you are only allowed to go to your current teacher for help.

what math class is it? everything in high school can be casually self studied with a bit of motivation.

What math class is it? There's probably free help on websites if you look up the concepts.

try getting a smart kid in your class or a higher class to tutor you

sometimes people do that stuff for NHS or math club or something
and sometimes it's even free
or you can just ask a friend

how can you get caught for getting extra help. You can always arrange a private meeting at the public library or something.

I'm having the same issue in my math class (Math is not my best subject by any means, but this quarter I went from A-s to Cs). My teacher, like yours, is totally not helpful and a couple of weeks ago I would have rather failed than talked to him. Even so, I recommend seeing you teacher to go over your test, ask questions on hw, etc. Because my teacher and I built up a rapport and became friendlier, he definitely graded my next test more leniently.
