I've taken the highest levels of English offered at my school. My grades in English were a lot lower than my other classes. I plan on doing something with science and math in college and all of my extracurriculars revolve around science or math. (yes I'm asian)...do you think colleges (hypms) will care a lot about these english grades? My SAT cr was 770 and my SAT writing was 800.

9th - English Honors 98%
10th - English Honors 89%
11th - AP English Language 88%

o_O, while those last 2 scores were low ur SAT scores are pretty amazing for both. as long as your other grades are astounding it might raise a small red flag in adcom's eyes but not as much as if u were completely sucky in english. I'd say it's ok, and cant be changed now anyway

thanks

my problems in english come from the fact that everything we do is timed...25 min. time writings, essay tests, etc...i just cannot seem to develop an effective essay in such a short time (SAT was a fluke)

I think adcoms know English is a very subjective class. Unlike math or science, where right answers are right, in English, it's up to the teacher. This is especially true in classes like AP Lang and Lit, where essays can count up to 90% of the final grade. I'm sure that adcoms will understand that English can often be a much harder course to suceed in.
