Low income and URMs at USC

I know the faculty at usc encourage students from low income and URMs to apply to USC, but how does the student body see them?

as human...?

As people? I mean, how are you going to be able to tell if someone's poor or not unless they're in like rags? And no one will think anything of someone from another race.

I'm guessing how they would identify them. You can find demographics of your zip code by the US Census Bureau, which includes class and race among other things. I know this because I read an article from Harvard about it.

I asked this because last fri, while going upstairs to the bookstore, i overheard a girl say, "Its so hard being a native American"... So I was wondering, why, do people make u feel less..
