low income?

so i have a question. im a current senior.

after going to numerous college presentations, it seems like every rep says that he/ she will look at each applicant's app in context of their environment.

does anyone know how exactly they do that?

for example, what if bc of family circumstances you're from a low income family but you live in an area that has mostly people from the middle class?

would they expect you to have the same opportunities as those around you such as SAT tutoring, college counselor, etc?

thank you so much!

low income as in your family makes 1/3 of what an average family would make in the same area before the econ crisis.

also, does anyone know which schools are generous with financial aid?

The schools with generous financial aid are mostly the same ones that go around the country doing admission presentations. They can afford it.

You mention your economic circumstances somewhere in your application if they made a big difference in your life.
