Hey I am applying to stanford EA and just took the October SAT IIs. I was overall pleased but had an errant Math score- 800 Lit, 780 US, 670 ?! Math IIC. Now, from that it would seem like I suck at math. Math isn't my stongest subject, but I am flabbergasted that I scored below 700. IE, I got a 5 on Calc BC/AB, Scored 760 on Math I (2320 overall).
I only took one practice test and got a 770- so I figured I would score somewhere around there on the real thing.
I guess I just had a bad test.. or eraser marks... or i filled in ovals on the wrong lines lol.. or something, I'm not suspecting it was misread but it is kind of baffling. I am confident that I could score around a 750 taking it again.
So- In short- with the extra emphasis stanford places on this SAT II, will they care? My overall SAT II record is 780 Bio M 800 Lit 780 US 760 Spanish.. and this math score.
On one hand, I could just leave the crappy score as is and hope they overlook it. On the other hand, I could probably just do stanby and the 5th and bring it up about 80 points or so-but would this really be worth it? By the time they got the score in late Nov. would it make a difference for EA? Any thoughts appreciated.

yeah i'm in the same boat as you...i got a 780 M SAT I, but only a 650(!) on IIc. I have absolutely no idea why i scored so low. i'm hoping that my high SAT math will make up for the bad, bad, IIc score, anybody have any input for pandorasparabox and I?

me too! 800 lit and us hist, but 690 IIc. On the SaT I got a 740 in the math section. Why do they care so much specifucally about the IIC? It's not like everyone's going into math and science fields.

mm I'm kind of the opposite.. 710 SAT I math but 800 IIC. uaskhf >_<

same as cryst3x3

Good to know there are others in teh same boat.
Any opinions on what do? Should I take stand-by if I know I can improve it? Do you think they would get in time for EA consideration? (I was thinking so, but eh).

It's too late for EA. You could retake it anyway if you don't mind, and send it in if you get deferred

Let me clarify- IF I can do the stand-by testing on this next week (November 5th) they would have the new score by like the 20th of November if I sent it to them. Do you think they would still consider it?

ack...me too 770 (US history) and 760 (french) and 690 on Math IIc...plus I took Calc BC last year...it's a conspiracy...lol jk

just go regular decision.

I called their office yesterday, and they said they're not accepting November SAT scores for SCEA.

Good info on this thread, I had a similar situation.
Do you think that Stanford will look at other high SAT II scores with a good amount of weight (I have 2 800s, 1 780) as well, even if you have a lower IIC score? I remember them only needing 2.

Glad to know other people in same situation. I have no idea what happened with my score. I'm probably still applying EA though, but I have no idea how much Stanford counts the IIC over other, higher, SATII scores. Do you think it will help that I'm taking Multivariable Calc and Differential Equations this sem. plus got my recommendation from my Differentials teacher?

Hopefully, in my case, it won't matter a whole lot, seeing as I have clearly shown that I am good at math, with a 5 on the AP Statistics test, a 780 M sat I, and a 34 in the act math. eh, whatever.
