I don't know if anyone on here can help me or not, but I'm having trouble with the vibrato on my lower notes. On a whole, my vibrato seems to slow down when I go for some of my longer-lasting low notes on some of my audition pieces. Does anyone know what I could do to help improve this? I don't notice it as much when I'm singing, but when I listen back it sounds horribly awkward.

It is very difficult to help without meeting and hearing you. You have a voice teacher.. I think I remember this from the MT board... what does your teacher think?

Based on what you are saying it sounds as if you are locking your air... possibly also thinking of low notes as going back and down rather than out and forward... this can also cause you to compress your larynx and tighten your air flow.

HOWEVER! The best place to take this question is to a teacher or coach with whom you can work.

As a tenor, you may be tensing things in an effort to make the sound more solid in the lower range. That being said, you need a real pair of voice teaching ears to help you sort out what you need to be doing to solve this issue and make progress in developing your voice in a way appropriate to your age and range. Good luck.
