Over the summer, I got my SAT II scores back, and got a 790 on Math II, and a 710 on Physics. I retook physics, got a 700 :(, so I retook it again. I thought the test was really difficult, so I'm not expecting a much higher score.

I'm thinking about trying biology e/m instead next time, since I don't think taking the same sat 4 times is a really good idea, but I was wondering if it will be worth the effort? Studying for it will take a significant amount of my time, so I was wondering if that 710 will really be that detrimental to my chances? I have something else going on that day that I'd really like to go to, so I'm kinda torn :(

A kid last year got in with 4 subject tests and none of them broke into 700+ except for spanish which was 790, so do not worry cuz you have 200 points more on the SAT too then he did. I doubt a 710 holds you back

@ AZOG, I don’t think saying that ONE person with x stats can be generalized so easily. That person may have had other aspects of his app that made him/her truly stand out. In general, a score under 700 in my opinion is detrimental.

That said, if you are thinking of majoring in physics or something, then maybe a 710 isn’t too good (but it would also be suspicious not to report a subject test for your intended major). If physics isn’t your intended major, then I wouldn’t feel that a 710 is bad to report. Go with the recommended number of SAT II’s to report, and if you have nothing else besides a 710 to reach that number, then report it. You can also ask your guidance counselor for advice.

For my major, I put undecided, but for my “interests”, I put biology, economics, and art history, but I never submitted my biology sat because it was REALLY bad and I’m only now taking the class, so I hope they don’t get suspicious.
