Low SAT Score vs. Early Action?

Hey guys,

IM at a tough decision right now because i dont know wether to apply early and send in my current score (super score 1690) or if i should wait and take the sat again in december and then send in a higher score but at the regular admission time. I am planing on taking an sat prep course in november so that i make sure my score increases for the december test.

My question is does sending in for early action outweigh the low sat score? Everything else on my application is solid.

Schools im looking at: Wentworth Institute of Technology, Northeastern, Boston College (my older sister goes here), Providence College, Bryant University, Cornell, Brown, and University of Rhode Island.

Some are def more competitive than others, i was just hoping that if i applied early along with my extra curriculars and my higher grades that would be enough to overrule the low sat score. What do you think? Apply early, or wait until i get a better score and apply regular.

Thanks in advanced

No it will not help you at all.

Early Action is harder to get into then regular decision. Most kids who get in EA or ED are the outliers at the top of the scattergram that have way higher SATs and GPAs than everyone else.

So I would say to wait until you’ve redone your SAT (unless you’re allowed to resend in SAT scores after you have applied-that would be a different situation).

Make sure to talk to your guidance adviser more about this though. He/She will give you the best advice.
