I got a 1260 on my SAT and my GPA is 3.5 (unweighted) I'm afraid that the colleges I applied to won't accept me. I applied as an engineering major. I've always gotten A's in my math classes. I'm currently in Pre Calcules and I'm doing fine in there I have an A for the fall grade. People tell me that even though I got a 370 on the math section not to worry because your grades and GPA also counts a lot and your ability to work hard to get those grades. My problem was that the SAT math section was to fast I take my time with math I felt so rushed, so colleges might get the wrong idea! I hope my MATH GRADES WILL HELP! I'm just really worried!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I applied to CSUSB, CSUF, CSUCALPOLYPAMONA, UCRIVERSIDE,UCIRVINE

Well, If i were you, I would retake the test and pay particular attention to math section. . .
370 is not the best score of yours if you have an A in pre Calcules

You may want to take a look at the eligibility index: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU; I would work through some practice tests for math (or consider the ACT).

I think you will get into some of those, but they might admit you as undeclared instead of an impacted major like some engineering majors.

jeez yeah most colleges (pretty much all with an engineering major) want to see 630+ for engineering majors. Now If you can pass an AP exam in math/science then this will further your odds (this is if you’re a sophomore/junior obviously since you’re only in pre-calc now)

Anyways, Go to sparknotes SAT 1 notes and take many practice tests. For someone who is scoring in the 20th percentile, I would suggest only making sure you get all the easy ones right and trying to get half and most of the mediums right as well. Wish you luck !

Scored a 700 on math

PS: This is really not an option because you absolutely need above a 500 for any engineering program to accept you, that’s just how it is. Good luck

If you’re rushing to finish the test, SLOW down. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but at the level you’re scoring, you should NOT be finishing each question–nowhere close. Focus on accuracy. If you had more time I’d say take it in stages, but if you’ve already applied, that’s not a luxury you have.

A 370 is just too low for most colleges, especially if you want to go into engineering. Is it possible to take the SAT again or take the ACT? It sounds like you didn’t prepare for the SAT (or at least the math section) enough; if you have an A in Pre-Calculus, SAT math shouldn’t be too hard, as it only goes up to Alg. II. If you practice with a timer and get used to how fast you have to solve the problems, your math score should increase substantially.
