Low SAT scores. Chance me for USC, UCSD, UCLA, Uni Wins Madison, etc

I am an international applicant therefore out of state.
I applied to UCSD, UCLA, USC (wanting to go to most), UCSB, University of Wisconsin Madison, Ohio State University, New York University

Scores:
SATs: 1720 highest. CR 530, WR 540, M 650
SAT Subject Tests: Maths 2 750, Chemistry 690

I take A Levels therefore my grades at Advanced Subsidiary and Predicted A2 grades are:
AS: AAAA in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics
A2: AAA*A in Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

I also took GCSEs in grades 9 to 10:
5A*s, 4As, 2Bs in (respective order) Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, French, English Literature, English Language, Additional Mathematics, Music, Business Studies

Extra-curricular activities:

Working as a waiter in restaurants for 2 years

The ratings below assume that GCSEs and A-levels are used in GPA calculation and A*s are worth 4.0 under that regime. However, I might be completely off.

USC: Reach
UCSD: High match
UCLA: Reach
UWI: Low match
OSU: Low match
NYU: High match

Try McGill University or U Toronto also, since these schools will not look at the SAT if you come with three predicted A*s on the A-levels, as you claimed you do.

Hi. I’m sorry but what does reach and match mean?
I understand match is how much my profile matches with the requirements but what does reach mean?
In order to get into USB what do you require that I am missing? I’m retaking my sats again this week

In order to get into USC what do I require that I am missing? I’m retaking my sats again this week

Something close to 2100…

Madison: I’d say you’re in there with your extra-curriculars and stuff, though tests could be better to be safe. Same goes for Ohio State.

The others I don’t know well enough to comment, sorry :stuck_out_tongue: I won’t lie to you and pretend I know.

That said, I do suggest you also look into Tufts. They really like international students and have a big international focus. It might be a bit of a reach for you, but go for it. Same goes for Macalester, check them out.

For writing, really try and make yourself stand-out. You’ve got a rigorous courseload and activities, but a lot of them are things tons of people do already. Focus on things you are especially good at and that stand out, like Chinese.

The best writing advice I got and what I’d tell you is: “Write about something only you can.”

Good luck!

I also have a thread, if you wanna take a look: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1421685-last-chance-me-nervous-senior.html

Could anyone chance me for University of Michigan with this information above?

And also how much does an essay impact on my application with such low scores?

UMI: Match

The essay might help if it is good, but it will hurt if it doesn’t measure up.

I saw that no one chanced me for UCSB. How likely am I to gain admission from UCSB?

Not supposed to post Here.

Sent from my GT-I9300 usin

UCSB: Match

Hi guys. Me again.
I foresee that my SAT grade will go up to 1900 to 2000 in between.
Are there anymore universities I should consider applying to any other great universities with my 1720 score just in case.
