ok, your scores aren’t that bad, they just dont match up with your awesome gpa. have you taken them multiple times?? and even if those are your final scores, your other academic and extracurricular achievements should make up for them. please chance me for tulane!

I hope you get another shot at taking the SATs, because I’m afraid that a numbers-driven school like UNC is going to take a peak at that and not give you a chance. Everything else about your resume is quality, but that critical reading score is a killer. I would say Wake Forest is a high match, and all of the rest are reaches, at this point in time. If you take the SAT again and even get the CR score to above 600 (which isn’t terribly hard, mind), that dramatically changes things.

If you’re stuck with those test scores, I’d apply to those four that you’re most interested in anyways, so long as your expectations are tempered and you have some safety schools that you’d be comfortable with. Who knows, maybe a sympathetic admissions guy will end up with the first look at you and decide that you’re simply a poor test-taker, and the rest of your resume is too strong to pass up. Realistically, the SAT scores seriously detract from the value that your 4.0 would hold. An admissions officer will see that and assume that your school just handed it to you, being that it’s so tiny and has an ostensibly questionable reputation. All isn’t lost, by any means, though. Everything besides the test scores is remarkable. One of those four might give you a chance regardless.

Thank you for your advice. I really hope I can get those stinking SAT’s up.

Definitely retake. If you get your SAT score up, you’ll have a good chance.
