Low Sat, still possible?

Do i have a chance of getting accepted?

1080 SAT
520 C.R.
560 M

4.0 U.W. g.p.a.

Number 2 out of 210 in my class.

Involved in alot such as student council president, lead in school musicals, peer leadership, ect..

I know my SAT are way down from everyone else on this thread, but are SAT really everything?

I just test bad on standard tests.

SATs aren't everything for CMU.

Still, you could always take them again if you are not confident.

wow you really should take that again. 1080 is a really bad score, no offense. try studying all summer and taking it again in October or something. what do you mean "i just test bad"? i don't understand that.

Take a look at the profiles here. As far as I recollect, no one got in with those SATs. Even for Design, they want higher SATs by at least an extra 100-150 points.

It's true that CMU has said that they don't admit solely on GPA and SAT scores;however, you would have to have some amazing other stuff going for you besides GPA if your SATs were that low.

You might try taking the ACT and see if you do better - some people do. I agree that you'd have to have some fantastic hooks to get past your current scores. Is there a reason you test badly? If you have a documented LD that the College Board won't accommodate your GC might be able to write about mitigating circumstances.
