I'm looking to make it into some mid-tier/top-tier UC's. UCLA is my ultimate goal, but I will also shoot for schools like UCB, UCI, and UCSD.

My GPA isn't half bad. I finished off last year with a 4.2. (Junior Year) and I'm looking forward to finishing my Senior year with something higher. I'm taking 5 AP classes.

However my test scores are abysmal, for UC's at least. I have a 1840 on my SAT, and a 26 on my ACT. I'm going to retake my SAT in October hoping to his 2000+.

My SAT 2's are just terrible. Physics, Math2, and Literature - all in the 590's range. Damn, and its either retake those or my SAT for the sake of time.

If I get my SAT's up and retain my GPA, will I have a shot at these colleges? I only know two people in real life who got into UCLA (probably many more next year) and they each had SATs in the 1900 range. Rare exceptions?

if you’re iron willed, you can self study world history and biology over the summer. pure memorization. buy used prep books from amazon or half.com and get to work. if you can’t take the SAT in november for some reason, then try the september ACT.

Hmm, I’m a bit confused sorry. So when should I apply by? (I am starting my senior year in August) and what if the results do not come by the time I have to apply?

keep your grades up.Re-study for your SATs. keep doing your extraccurriculars. you should get a spot at one of the colleges you mentioned. Also, have good letters of reccomendation.

practice practice practice… when i got my first US history SAT II back i was devasted because i got a 620, i then kept taking practice tests until the next administration of the us history sat II and i got a 710!
