Low -sats And Accepted-examples

if any of you have low SAT's (subject and reasoning)and have got accepted to any premier univs ,can you please post your info here?

Dude, if you think the SAT scores are the only thing taken into consideration you're gravely mistaken. If you don't think that, why ask such a question?

If your scores are low and you feel that you need some sort of re-affirmation that people do get in with low SAT scores. You will get a lot of that. But what good is that going to do? Nothing. Just concentrate on your RD aplications and forget about what has been done. You can't change that. The only way you'll know if you can get accepted is by applying.

Good Luck!

Thats true ^^^

However, if you want an example, I got a 1720 in sats and got into university of wisconsin-madison, one of the top publics in the US. However, my grades EC's and essays + recs werre outstanding.

Like the above dude said, apply and find out for urself

My SAT's were below the regular Ivy league applicant (though within their median)- 2030, and I got into Cornell Engineering, Early Decision.
Although i had impressive EC's and recommendations and very good grades all trhrough high school.
Don't worry, put your heart into into your applications, write amazing essays and just apply. Adcoms know that some people are just not good test takers.

I have a friend who got into Engineering at University of Wisconsin-madison with 1560 (3 parts)

My friend with 1600 out of 2400 got into BU.
I've noticed 4 people with low 1900's that got into Wharton Penn

Friend of mine - 610 CR, 770 M, 600 W. In at Harvard EA. Not bad SATs, but below the usual Ivy League applicant. (His essays weren't too great either.)

I am curious about the 4 guys who got into Penn Wharton with low 1900's SAT scores. What were their hooks?

^ Not sure. But go onto cc penn's page and if you search quite a few pages back, you'll find people with 1900's accepted to whaton..

I know two guys with 1350~1450/1600 got into Harvard(Canadian)

i know someone with 1810 and low 500s and 600s who got into Penn!!! (double legacy, US citizen :) )

I had a 2160 on my SATs. I now attend Amherst College! SAT scores are not the be-all and end-all of college admissions

@switch: 2160.. is NOT a low score.

lol yea! ...

yeah!.. who can say that 2160 is low?!..

Johns Hopkins!

abhishiv, it was a boy from the british school new delhi. Both mom and dad were legacies. and guess what school ? WHARTON! Soo many people (very rich ones) go to wharton who are not even that qualified (from the british school atleast!)

^^

I've heard they pull some strings though.. isnt it strange? we thought that the admissions are only based on merit

Yup, admissions aren't purely on merit- if they were then poor bush would have had a tough time.
