Hi guys! I applied ED to Penn and I’m a little concerned about my SAT scores.
I have a superscore of 2230, 720 CR, 800 M, and 710 W. (took the test twice, 2180 the first time, 2200 second time)
But my unweighted GPA is 99.63/100.00, weighted rank is 5/513, and I have 800s on both SAT II Math II and Chemistry. I’m applying to CAS with an undecided natural science major.
Do you think my GPA and SAT II’s would outweigh my not-so-great SAT scores?
Any opinion is appreciated, thanks!
If that’s a “not so great” score, I think a lot of people are in trouble. That is a fine score.
My son was admitted to Penn CAS (Fine Arts) with a 2230, 730 Math II, 710 Lit and a 3.84/4.41 mid-year GPA. (Was 3.95/4.44 when he applied, and finished with 3.87/4.44), and he applied RD.
That score is 50th percentile. That means the average student at Penn has your score. I have a 2220 and took the test 3 times. You’re fine. Anything over 2200 is fine.
^Thanks for the responses!!! All my college friends told me that I need a 2300+ if I want to get into ivies. They all had 2300+ so I was worried…
And congrats to @sbjdorlo on your son’s acceptance! Hope his school year is going well!
Thanks for your congratulations! My son is actually on a gap year and will start next fall.
Keep us posted!
You’re welcome! I hope his gap year is going well then
I will! Happy Thanksgiving!
That’s a great score. If your ECs are good, you’ll get into Penn no problem. Best of luck!
^Thank you!! Best of luck to you too!
