low sat's

have u guys heard of people get into very selective schools with
sat's in the 1800's....

However everything else, grades, ec's, recs, essays are all on point?

Just wondering

I think you can get into pretty selective schools, but no Ivies, with 1800s as long as you have solid grades and extracurriculars to make up for it. I know my response is vague but college admission isn’t all about standardized test scores.

Good friend of mine got into Yale with an 1820. He’s quite impressive…

African American, He went to arguably the top prep school in the country and was in the top 30% of his class taking very difficult courses (the school sends 33% of its kids to ivies) even after he messed up his first year (junior year) there… meaning he rocked grades senior fall and winter. He played Cello at Carnegie Hall, and is from Kentucky. Bunch of other stuff…but yeah. He got rejected from Northwestern because they knew he was going to get in everywhere he applied and even though I’m sure many people have chosen Yale or Harvard over NU…well, they didn’t think he would have. He got in everywhere besides NU. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford and some other places.

The STA’s are really important but i think IB colleges look more for well rounded students than for those who have a perfect or really high SAT score. This menas a person with good personality traits, who is involved in school activities, plays sports, has good grades and most likely AP clases.

I think Colleges dont just look at your SAT score. If you prove to be a capable student, responsible and everything, you will get accepted in many good colleges. Dont get stressed out because of it.

colleges cant just look at a students SAT becsue they need well rounded studenst. They dont just need students who excell in academic, but students who excell in sports because they need some on to represent the school in velleyball, track, soccer etc.

Another reason why collages dont just look at you SAT score is because not all students perform well under the stress this tests produce students. Many tend to black out…and a test should really be the only thing that decides your future.
