Low scores already sent... how deep in it am I?

Ok so I got a 550 on lit. And I send the scores in before hand because I am dumb. So would this be a major detraction form my application?
I'm looking at schools like (scores already sent) Boston University, UCSB, and UCD. I also sent scores into JMU, but they don't require subject test.

No taking into account other factors would this be an automatic disqualification; assuming I'm an otherwise competent(but not extraordinary)* applicant.

What about UCLA or UCSD?

This doesn't necessary reflect my position; its just a hypothetical; and by competent I mean at "match" level.

I got a 760 on my other test (USH), and I'm planing on self studying for physics/ math II (I haven't taken the proper classes yet but I'm very interested in math and science, so I think it be easier to prepare for than any other test.

It won’t help, but it won’t hurt too much either. The schools you discussed only require two SAT IIs, so as long as you do well on your other tests, I doubt that will significantly impact your chance of gaining admission.

You could always study and retake literature–the colleges you’re applying to might be impressed by dramatic improvement.

I’m in this same boat with Lit and Physics being low and USH being high, for applying to Princeton. I had selected 4 schools to receive my scores when I registered, but I didn’t know about Score Choice. I don’t see anything in my “score send history”–does that mean it won’t send them without me doing something, it just didn’t send them YET, or it’s not telling me? Can I do Score Choice with the 4 free registration ones, or cancel those reports and pay $40 to do them each again? God I didn’t think straight back in June. Thought I’d just save my family some money, turns out $40 might cost me admission into Princeton. Thanks College Board.
