lower bunk or upper bunk?

Hi
it's the first time for me to make the housing contract.
And I prefer the lower bunk, for I am afraid of sleeping onthe upper one. So have they decided this for me when they make the assignment? Or I should to talk that with my roommate when I move in?

thanks

No. Housing assignment is purely location and room #. You make all these decisions separately with your roommate, and no worries, there are lots of options. In reality, few people actually bunk their beds at all.

Roomates get to choose whether to have the beds bunked or not have them bunked and who gets what bed. The rooms feel and are small when the beds are separate. The rooms feel and are small when the beds are bunked but you have a little more of that small room to move about.

okay,Thanks a lot!

Most people don’t want the lower bunk, so if you do offer, that probably will be a good thing! D was in a triple, so there was a bunk bed, and a single bed. After the room assignments were made, one girl offered to take the top bunk (and she was the smallest/shortest of the 3). D offered to take the bottom bunk, and actually created a little “den” for herself, with posters all over the wall, and even attached to the frame up above her. However, she was glad to get a single bed in this year’s housing set-up.

I was afraid to fall off the top bunk so my roommate and I actually made them into two singles. There was NO room left but I felt safe!
