hi im a freshman an a junior college and im not clear on what a lower division transfer is...does it mean that i can take my SATS and apply for soph year at sacramento state? thats where i wanna go and they do accept lower division..i just dont really know what that means

Lower division transfer means you’ll be transferring your sophomore year(usually require you to have around 27-30 credits)
Upper division means you’ll be transferring as a junior with 60+ credits.

but does that mean id send in my college aps now in 2009? because i obv dont have those credits yet but i will by the end of the school year

I’m not sure what the specific application period is for Sac State, but yes, in general, one applies this fall 2009/winter 2010 to transfer in the fall of 2010. On the application you will write down the courses you are taking now and likely the ones you plan to take the rest of the year. Just make sure you take the recommended courses and talk to a GC at your CC:

oh ok thanks! and is it likely that lower divison transfers get accepted?

and also i do need SAT scores?

Sac state is easy to get into. dont trip

natashag,
Did you read the link I posted? It gives an explicit statement about standardized tests for lower division trasfers.

yeah i just read it sorry i didnt c it

ya but is it easy as a lower divison transfer?

I don’t know, I’m not familiar with Sac State.

no i just mean in generral

nat,
The College Board has good transfer data:

[College Search - California State University: Sacramento - Sac State - Admission](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board)

77% transfer acceptance rate. And also:

“Additional requirements for transfer admission: Applicants with less than 60 semester units must meet first-time freshman admission requirements and have a college GPA of 2.0 or higher.”

Again, a talk with your CC GC will give you the best input on your transfer possibilities.

thanks…what do you think is like a good SAT score for me to get in cuz i have to take it next month

All I can do is direct you to the same link, hit the box for SAT scores and you will see the SAT stats for fr admissions.

What I’m giving you is just general information that can be found on the web, it may or may not apply to your specific situation. Again, ask your GC, they will have experience with people applying from your CC to Sac State.

alright thanks a bunch u helped me out alot :)
