<p>I want to go to UCSD or like UCLA..., but I need to have a backup plan if I don't make it in. So does anyone have any ideas of the "lower" schools. (Not a community college, and in CA)</p>

<p>obviously, the other UC’s are “lower” that UCLA and UCSD, as are Cal States. In the private realm, consider Pacific, Redlands, Chapman, San Diego, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount, Mills (female)…</p>
<p>CAL state schools, the “lower” UCs (as opposed to UCSD, Berkeley, UCLA, UC Irvine), and some private schools in California.</p>
