Lower than expected Reading and English scores?

it seems that a lot of people got lower reading and english scores than expected
including me.
E: 28 (expected atleast a 32)
R: 30 (expected a 33)

i felt pretty confident while taking the test and always did well on the Real practice ACT tests. Anyone else disappointed?

Yeah, I expected:

E: 30 (expected around 33 to 34)
R: 31 (expected 34 or 35)

I'm pretty disappointed.

I agree on Reading. I got a 33 on that in December, but got a 31 this time. I was expecting a 33-34 again. I would really like to see which problems I got wrong on that section specifically.
Is it possible to order your booklet-answer sheet and the correct answers for the Feb. test?

English I actually raised 6 points from a 25 to a 31. Hopefully I'll be able to raise that to a 32 or 33.

i thought reading wasn't too bad
but wasn't exactly thrilled about english
thought i was getting 33 or 34
got a 30

expecting 30 on english but got a 25

expecting 30 on reading but got a 23.lol.

Oh man.
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I was practically screaming at myself for this:
35 on English on the December test
28 on English on the Feb. test

I have absolutely no clue what happened.
I never get lower than a 32 on the practice tests.
I ended up getting the same composite score as last time
thanks to that 28! :S

I was confident I missed two at most on the Reading and scored a 30 on the section. English was adequate for me, though.

Ended up with a 25 for reading but then again, I didn't try to read the whole passages, mainly went directly to the questions and searched quickly.

Obviously, I probably missed a few tone, inference and purpose questions but I "should've" had extra time to check those but I got hung up on a few directly in the passage questions. This was a dry run of it though, I'll take a few practice tests with this new strategy.

Now I just need an English strategy to get a 30!

i know the feeling. i got a 24 on english and i expected at least a 30 since its my strongest subject. 27 Composite, expected at least a 29
but i guess i should be thankful the proctor even let me take the test since i walked in late -_- haha i was waiting outside the saturday school room for 5 minutes before i realized it wasn't the ACT room.

lol my english screwed me over
without that section i got a 33, after that section i got a 30 T.T

M-30
R-30
S-30

E-26.. -_- Really? I thought i might have missed 4 questions TOPS

Obviously there's some self-selecting bias going on here, but I can't help but wonder if they mis-curved the reading section. I got a 32 when I was pretty sure I missed no more than three questions. I got three 36s in a row on the practice tests I took. I was baffled when I saw the 32.

I actually got a 34 in english, but the 27 in reading had me scratching my head...

Rocket surgery wat did u get on your english section? i saw in another thread that u expected to get a 36

English and Reading are my two best sections. I got a 34 and a 33 respectively in Feb :)

One of my friends actually got a 35 on reading, but a 25 composite...

Rocket Surgery - A lot of people were saying that it reading seemed really easy this time. Maybe the curve was just harsh. If you got 3 or 4 wrong with a harsh curve, you could've gotten a 32.

I got 35s in reading and english but got lower than expected on science..anyone else have this problem?

I expected a 35 in English and a 36 in reading before going in. After taking the test, I thought that I probably got a 35 in reading and a 36 in English. I literally can't imagine what I missed on the English section. I was totally confident in all of my answers and finished with 10 minutes to spare even after going over every answer.

I got about where I expected. 35 English, 34 Reading.
