I've seen threads about this but they were quite dated. I'm curious to see what the lowest SAT/ACT score that was accepted during the last year. I know it all depends on the applicant/situation but, what is the lowest you have seen at SC?

This question is difficult to answer because frankly, college students don’t normally go around discussing their test scores from high school. Once you’re here, things like that don’t matter. I don’t even know the scores of my closest friends in college.

Here’s the freshman profile for this year (the middle 50% scores will give you a better idea more than anything else):

I saw that T_T it made me feel awful. I mean I know a lot of people don’t like to discuss it, but it would kind of make me feel better knowing someone got in w/ a particularly low score, and there’s nothing wrong w/ that.

that’s actually last year’s freshman profile (student’s who entered Fall 2010). Seems weird that USC hasn’t posted for the class that just started Fall 2011.

1700 lowest i know of

I got into USC with a 28 act. don’t remember the sat but I think it was around 1700

atlbornuscbound was your gpa high? my act is higher than 28 but my gpa is most likely lower than yours. and im sure they consider gpa more. and was your major competitive?

Hello. I’m currently I senior in an Ohio public school. I recently applied to USC with a 28 ACT and a 4.111 GPA. I played football and lacrosse throughout high school and was involved in numerous student government organizations.

Do you think I have good chances on getting in? I really hope my ACT isn’t too low for 2012’s upcoming freshman class because I really want to go to USC.

Btw, my combined English/Writing score was a 32 if that’s worth anything.

Each application is decided individually. All applications are read. All essays are read. Some students have had to overcome difficult health or financial challenges. I know of a legacy student who had well over 2000+ SAT, great grades and ECs. He was not admitted. It is nearly impossible to guess who will stand out among thousands of applicants.

The freshmen profile for the class that entered in 2011 is posted on the admissions website. It has been posted since late September.

I know of a kid who got in with a 26.

I know someone who got in with a 25

Daughter got in with 1790 and is a freshman

Impossible to get in with a 22?
English second language… that’s why.

mss1234, you are a Thornton applicant (I gather from another thread), so your stats will be viewed differently - in conjunction with your audition. If your audition is amazing, Thornton will make a case for your admittance to the general Admissions department, provided your grades/stats are not too far out of the “ballpark.” If the music department wants you, USC just needs to feel that you can also succeed academically there. I know that’s a bit vague, but that’s how it works. Best of luck!
