lowest gpa accepted at UCLA?

is it possible to transfer with a 3.0 and a philo major?

I would think not.

Average applied GPA of Philosophy majors for Fall 2010 was 3.37. The average admitted was 3.54, and the average enrolled was 3.46.

Scroll down to Philosophy

possible? yes.

Likely? No.

It’s possible.

My older friend got into UCLA Econ with a 3.35 GPA he got in because he was in the military.

Well, YES. But the reason it is possible is because there’s more to college admissions than just your GPA. From what I’ve read and what counselors have told me, it seems like, for transfers, colleges care more that you’ve finished the pre-reqs (and IGETC in your case), and that you demonstrate interest in the subject. If you can show that you are really interested in the subject with your extracurricular activities and your essay, then I think you have a chance with a 3.0 (but honestly, probably not with anything less).
