Actually Kerry is listed with a lower SAT than Bush. It's in the high 1100s. Al Gore was in the 1400s. Bill Clinton was around 1050 or so.

Curmudgeon, Where did you see that 88th % suggests IQ of @130? 130 is the cut-off for gifted people, and means they are in 99%. According to WAIS-R, scores in
88 percentile==IQ 112-122

Google SAT+1974+scores, Mensa used SAT scores until the mid 90's to detemine IQ. I did not intend to say 88th percentile was a 130 IQ. I did intend to say that a 1206 -1260 whichever it was (it appears to be 1206) is calculated prior to 1974 as a scored IQ of 129-132, and that a 1206 was the 88th percentile. Sorry , I could have made that more clear to begin with.

Bookworm, your 99% is also of the general population, is it not? While 88th percentile on the SAT is of college-bound juniors, seemingly a much smarter group than the general public (at least we'd like to think so. LOL. ). Apples to apples.

uhh theres no way Bill Clinton had that low of a SAT. He was poor and had no connections yet he still got into great schools.

Don't be ridiculous. Sometime last year Stanford admitted a student with less then a 3.3 (as a matter of fact, 1% of the admitted had less than a 3.3). Check out the common data set, I kid you not.

My brother got into Penn with a 3.1 gpa. But hes gonna play football there.

Can I get into University of Penn with a 3.68 and not intending to play football
