Lowest Grades on this Forum

Hi, I am a senior in High School wanting to know what I can do to maximize my chances of getting into a top school.

GPA's:

9 - 2.5
10 - 2.2
11 - 3.5
12 - 4.0 (so far)

Currently in Calc BC; Calc AB AP score was 3 because the teacher decided to upgrade me from precalc halfway through my junior year.

SAT: 1860 w/ very minimal studying, will re-take next year after studying all summer. I'm trying to be optomistic, so assume I will get 2300+ (there is a 100% chance I will get that score if I spend 5+ hours a day for two months studying)

In addition to getting straight A's and higher SAT scores, what else could I do in my first two years of college that would increase my chances of getting into a top school (I mean Stanford, Penn - Wharton School, Columbia, etc.)

Internships are HUGE in transfer admissions, according to my cousin, who got his GED after his jr year and is applying to top schools out of a CC.

^ I assume you mean paid internships? What about a full-time job with AT LEAST 40 hours a week? I had the job for over a year and go to school at the same time. Is that just as helpful?

Try to get into an honors program at the CC you will go to. Also look at the transfer requirements of each of those schools and plan a curriculum around that. Wharton requires specific courses as prerequisites for example.
