<p>well, i do agree that berkeley is a top 20 caliber university. esp. its grad school should be top 5. i guess the reason many people on this site are ‘elitist’ is bc they solely judge a school’s prestige based on selectivity, etc. also, you have to account for the fact that many people on this site are interested/curious to know about the very ‘elite’ schools that are perceived to be desirable/exclusive, which happen to be the elite privates.</p>

UC Berkeley ranked less than these? Really? Undergraduate major to major, be it engineering, english, math, science, history, etc… Berkeley beats all of these school hands down. </p>
