i know its more than just sat but there has to be some sort of threshold where your chances are slim to none

id say 1950-2000, i tend to think it's not as important as most people; but you'll of course need APs, gpa, extracurriculars, and plenty of other factors like essays that would offset this. the process itself is always kind of random as you know.
having a 2200+ (or 1400) is a great thing :)

i have over that by a lot but i am just wondering would we use superscore or just our highest composite?

highest in each

0.

Do awesome on ACT?

There are no cutoffs

well.. obviously there aren't

Do you really want to be in but part of the least qualified of the student body?

you do realize that sometimes people want reassurance and no one is ever guaranteed for admission despite having perfect scores

even being the least qualified in columbia you still have some sort of intellect..you just don't get in for being a moron unless you have some connection ro something

if you have some sort of intellect you should easily be able to get at least a 650 anyways on all sections without studying so this is really a pointless thread

2200 at least i would say for a non-hooked applicant

if you can, go for 2300+

y not "go for" 2400 while ur at it. oh and you're wrong.....i agree more with the last estimate of ~2000 being the least.

So, does Columbia use AP scores, then?

I think 2200 is certainly not the lowest (realistic) possible score, I agree with Shraf, probably closer to 1900-2000

i have a 2100 superscore..great ecs, goign to write stellar essays, 3.85 gpa......do i stand a chance?

that statement is not retroactive. the old test had a lot of things that required studying (analogies and quant comps to be precise)

..nice save

u stand a chance, but take it again. apply knowing u did everything you can and you wont have any regrets if you get rejected.

These two example applicants I personally know are a good way to gauge your chances.

1760 SAT, 3.7 GPA ---Accepted

2400 SAT, 4.0 GPA ---Rejected

Good luck!
