Do yall know anybody that has the lowest SAT Is accepted at Rice??

I have not heard of anyone getting in with an SAT lower than a 1300.

Really?? Well my friend's interviewer got into Rice with a mid 1200..i wonder if someone with an SAT score lower than that could get in...

Then he/she probably had some outstanding characteristics or legacy status.

i see..then there is no hope for me...butt monkey!!!

I was just about to say that you have no hope, but that would presumptuous. I think everybody has a chance at Rice (even though that chance may be small), and whatever odds are against your being accepted should not deter you from applying/trying.

nspeds, that just didnt make sense at all...how did your last statement prove your first claim at all? if that's the case, then to say "I was just about to say that you have no hope..." is absolutely ridiculous. While wannabeariceowlgirl's SAT scores may not fit in entirely within the score range of admitted students, I hope you do understand well enough that Rice evaluates an applicant based on their entire package, and not just a few numbers...and how would you know the rest of wannabeariceowlgirl's application? if that's the case, then you have no right to say that she has no chance. I appreciate how you offered words of encouragement in the end, but your first statement was entirely uncalled for and can be very hurtful.

I was not arguing syllogistically, my last statement reflects a contradiction in thought.

Of course they do, and I never claimed otherwise.

The statement above was made by me, learn to read.

Also, you have yet to substantiate your claim by providing an example of someone actually getting accepted with a score less than 1200.
and how would you know the rest of wannabeariceowlgirl's application?

There was an invention a couple of years ago called "search."

I never said she did not have a chance...

Remember, reading skills... yes... work on them.

Edit: And just to save you from a trip to dictionary.com:

Presumptuous: Going beyond what is right or proper.

Now read my post again:

"I was just about to say that you have no hope, but that would be presumptuous"....shall i say, oxymoron? And if you had read my post carefully enough, you would've understood that my entire point was to say how your statement of "I was just about to say that you have no hope..." is completely unjustified no matter how you backed up that statement with words of encouragment near the end. All of this leads to the question of why you had even said "I was just about to say that you have no hope..." in the first place when you rightfully claim that you don't even agree with that.

And thanks for defining "presumptuous" for me. I'm in awe with the capacity of your intelligence to hold such impressive and big words like that.

I am only in awe of your apparent inability to read an entire sentence. Moreover, I never intended for my words of encouragement justify the first claim in my post. In fact that claim is unjustifiable, and that was qualified by my use of "presumptuous."

What did I tell about reading?

Seems like you have yet to answer my question...

Does the question need answering? Okay, for someone like you, I will answer it.

I was "thinking out loud/typing."

How did you get such a high score on the SAT-Verbal?

Edit: I find it incredibly amusing that you change the point of your attack upon me in every post: first, my claim is unjustifiable, second, I should not have made the claim, and third, I now have to answer why I put the claim in there in the first place. Make up your mind and stop trying to pick a fight, you are looking in the wrong area.

the three points of attack that you listed go pretty much hand-in-hand to me....but I will consider this case closed.....though, let us all not forget who said:

first, my claim is unjustifiable,
Which I argued before you even replied, making your first response absolutely useless.

second, I should not have made the claim
That is just a matter of your opinion, which you have failed to substantiate.

And yes, let us not forget who said:
How did you get such a high score on the SAT-Verbal?
That was not a question of admiration, which your defficient reading skills probably determined it to be, but rather a question of doubt and speculation.

Learn to read...

You would think that after explicating the same line
(four times) this person would actually make a conscious effort.

"How did you get such a high score on the SAT-Verbal?"

just mere "doubt" and "speculation"? it kills me when people don't admit to their true intentions of insulting others...

I guess you should be killing yourself then:)

And to wannabeariceowlgirl, if my initial claim was insulting to you, I apologize.

Good Day.
