Lowest SAT score and accepted into USC?

My SAT scores are absolutely horrendous, and my GPA is comparatively low to most of the accepted USC student's GPA's because I bombed my freshman year. Anyways, I have a feeling that my SAT scores will make me or break me. Accepted students, what were your lowest SAT scores? And actually even rejected students can answer as well.

PS- Is there any hope for improvement? I got like a 1650 (embarrassing, I know) without taking a class or anything. I am aware I have to improve by like... 350 points. Is this even possible?

how horrible is your GPA? (maybe an upward trend helps). I don’t think you need a 2000+ SAT score, I’ve seen many people with 1850-1950 get in, but you must be sure to have strong EC’s and a really good essay + recommendations.
I improved like 150 points without any classes from one test to the other, so with classes you should be able to go up about 200+ points if you really do well which would be lower than the average SAT of accepted students but still could mean getting accepted :)

its possible, just get to work now. I had a 1780 last march and I brought it up to a 2070 in January. Practice, practice, practice. Especially the math and multiple choice writing, they seem to be repetitive after a while. good luck

P.s. I just got into USC as a spring admit with that score, but I have seen ppl in the range that poncem described

Well freshman year I finished with a 3.03, sophomore year with a 3.8, and hopefully junior year with a 4.1.
So there definitely is an upward trend. Do you guys know if the SAT classes help?

I have a friend who improved about 100 points with a couple of classes, then again I improved about the same without classes, but you never know. I think practising is better, since really it’s all about the time crunch and not so much about difficulty

I got a 1730 my first try in March of my junior year, and got it up to a 2040 in October of senior year. It was an impulsive decision to sign up for the SATs. (perhaps one of the most important decisions in my high school career, I may not have gotten into USC without the improvement)

I didn’t take any classes, all I did was find some questions online every day, and take 2 full tests (minus the essay) on the 2 weekends before the test date. I just locked myself in my room, turned my phone off, and timed myself for each section. I think I progressed about 100 points each time I took it, including the actual test.

So I know that worked for me, maybe it will work for you.

Have you tried the ACT? I took the SAT my sophomore year and got around 1700, and I think I took it once during the beginning of junior year and got around 1800. I didn’t think I was gonna improve by much if I took it again, so I tried the ACT and I ended up liking it a lot better. I got into USC with a 32, but I got a 28 my first time. I just never sent them my SAT scores, haha. Oh, and I never took actual classes. I don’t think they’re really necessary, in my opinion.

I took a class from Kaplan and my score jumped from a 1770 (early junior year), to an 1880 (beginning of senior year), then a 1950 (december of senior year)… I have a 4.02. I was accepted for Spring Admission. Just keep taking them!

wah i am in the same problem! i also got 1650 and i want to apply for usc! i will study my ass off now, knowing that people with 1700 or 1800s got in! my higher education counsellor said that i have amazing records and my ib grades should be ok!

So, I have no chance of getting in with a SAT of 1500 (M+WR+CR)? I’m an international IB-student with good grades and I won’t be needing financial aid.

From what I’ve heard, ECs, essay and recommendations are less decisive for admission than grades and scores. Is that right?
