Lowest SAT scores you know

What is the lowest SAT scores you know of someone who was admitted to Cornell? I'm just curious...

Personally, I do not have the highest SAT scores in the world. (1770...math killed my score) I'm applying ED for CAS, hopefully majoring in Government/prelaw. I have a 4.7 GPA on the 5 point scale. I'm an Asian minority, female living in the Southwest. Excellent ECs:

Elected Texas Senior Reporter for Business Professionals of America
Vice President for Senior Class
President of the Dabate team
President of National Honors Society (many volunteering hours)
Treasurer of Junior class, National Qualifier of Junior Classical League
Worked at the largest library for the University of Texas, Austin

Great essays, I'm also taking very challenging classes.
AP World History
AP US History
AP English Comp
AP Bio
AP English Lit
AP Gov/Eco
AP Statistics
AP Chemistry

Do I have a chance or is Cornell way out of my league??? :( I'm taking the SAT II in 4 days, I'm expecting around 700s on the US History and Literature Subject Tests.

i think your SATI score is wayy below average for Cornell.. (statistically).. it would be very hard to get into Cornell w/ a 1180.

but.. who knows? if your GPA/ec/essays/rec kick some serious ass.. then you might have a chance

what'd you get on the AP tests for the ones that you took?

The harsh truth is that I doubt you can get into Cornell with that score- unless you have some legacy or something.

I have a 2300 and im not even applying to ivies :S

why not? 2300 is a very competitive score

Yeah...I guess I should aim lower. 74 more days until the ED results come in. My goal is not to get rejected, and just be on moved to their waitlist. lol, wow, thanks yall...all of my hopes and dreams just got crushed in 2 mins. (sarcasm, joking) I'm applying for regular decision to Washington and Jefferson College, Washinton and Lee Univeristy, and University of Texas, Austin. That's my safety, I'm guarantee there. Is my list pretty reasonable or am I aiming too high up?

dont worry.. ;) i know how you feel about your dreams getting crushed in a minute. don't stress out about your SAT scores.. just do well on everything else. Your list seems pretty good.. just make sure you can rely on your safety.

btw.. asians aren't a "minority" anymore :)

"I have a 2300 and im not even applying to ivies :S"

I don't know, but this is excessive for the post and a bit arrogant.

Please just go with the constructive criticism.

indeed....

wait, if your CR/WR are really high i don't think the situation is that bad because you are applying to government and not something like engineering.

Your ECs are, as stated earlier...pretty kickass.

An alum told me she met people here who had barely broken 1100 on the SAT I.

Funny how both of us applied here and to W&L...difference is, I went to W&L for a year and transferred here. ;) Let me know if you get in there/here!

if you do well in your math classes, the math score shouldn't be a problem. I applied as a math major, got like 360 on my Math IC, and I got in ^_^

But quynh, wasn't that 360 the result of misbubbling or something that you corrected on the 2C? (I'm not stalking you or anything...I just remember because...360 is really, really low)

Anyway, to the OP, depending on what type of asian you are, you may have a chance, I think. There are just too many South (Indians) and East (Chinese/Korean/Japanese (fewer of these)) Asians that here have all that you have AND good scores.
I remember a thread in the c/o 2009 forums where a lot of people had sub-1200 scores so you should definitely apply anyway.

Thanks for the help! I've decided that I should just take the SAT I again in November. It won't hurt. :) Wish me luck, I have SAT IIs this Saturday (Oct 8th)!!!! Time is just passing by, before we know it, the results will be in

lol, don't worry towerpumpkin, I remembered it too, sadly...

What did you get on each section, sunflower_girl?

I think 1770 is too low, honestly, unless there's something phenomenal about you that distinguishes you from the other applicants...it's always worth a shot, though.
