lowest score on SAT

CB indicates that the lowest score on the old SAT was 400. From my understanding, a blank test form would be a 400, but shouldn't it be possible for people to score below 400? For example, if they got every question wrong?

I find it hard to believe that out of 1,400,000 people who took the test, not even a single one TRIED to get a low score.

(If anyone wishes to pay for me to take the SAT again, I shall attempt to get every question wrong and achieve a 0 :-P)

But yeah, such a thing would be pointless if getting every question wrong and leaving every question blank end up equalling the same score.....

so is 400 the lowest possible score on the old SAT?

yes, 400 is the lowest possible score. the curve is made so that the lowest in each section is 200. 200 is usually a raw score of -2 or so. having a raw score of 0 is often a 230. beyond 200, any more questions wrong will still yield 200.

Even a negative raw score gets you a 200 - see this guy's story about trying (and failing) to miss every single question on the SAT

Thanks guys....
